DNS Server

The DNS server is a zone wherein a number of domain names are registered. The server maybe dedicated to a university, or at the national level. For instance, .in represents Indian websites. Another example is .uk, for sites in the United Kingdom.

The other mainstream DNS servers include .com, .org, .net, etc. Using these servers, people register their domain names and have sites uploaded. Generally, DNS hosts purchase server space and then sell the space to individuals and entities that require space on the Internet for their websites or web pages.

The price of the server space depends on the prominence of the server. For instance, space on .com will cost far more than space on .in. Another aspect that determines price is the amount of space required. This depends on whether the individual or entity is looking at setting up a couple of files or web pages, or an entire site or web portal.

The DNS server is one of primary aspects of the Internet. Without it one would not be able to gain any space on the web. And if the servers were not well organized then there would be utter confusion. So what may seem like simple web surfing is actually based on a complex networking system.

What is worth noting is that the same domain name can be used on any of the servers. For instance, suppose the domain name you opt for is yourfood; the same domain name can be used for the various servers. So you can have yourfood.com, yourfood.in and yourfood.org on separate web-hosts, or a single individual or entity can purchase a domain name on all the servers.

One would think that because of the innumerable sites and pages up on the Internet it would be next to impossible find web space. But this is one world with infinite space, for one and all. As far as domain name availability is concerned, it’s all about creativity. So while the DNS server has a lot of space, it is up to you to invent new names.

Broadband Internet Access

Broadband Internet access has redefined the boundaries of web networking. The time required to access the Internet, as well as to download information of different frequencies from the web, has been dramatically reduced. Web information is conveniently and easily accessible without being affected by long distances. Broadband Internet access is especially suitable for those who require instant and prolonged or constant (24/7) access to the Internet. Although it is a little more expensive then the traditional narrow-band Internet connection or dial-up network, the benefits fully compensate for the little price difference. A broadband connection ensures that the functioning of the cable and television line is not affected during connection, and vice-versa.

There are different types of broadband Internet access. The most efficient and reliable way it is accessed by home customers is through a cable broadband connection. This runs on an existing cable or coaxial connection. Another convenient way to access this technology is a DSL connection that uses an existing telephone line. Both these technologies are widely used by urbanites already having a telephone or cable connection. Most subscribers provide a 24-hour service for a flat monthly price. The T1 and T3 type of broadband connection is generally accessed by large business houses and universities. These oldest forms of broadband connections are the most efficient, but are also the most expensive. Access to broadband Internet connections is dependent on one’s geographical location. Although distance doesn’t usually affect speed and efficiency, the availability of infrastructure is a problem in remote rural areas and while one is traveling. Many of these difficulties have been addressed by the advent of satellite broadband Internet connections using land stations to receive land station transmissions. Wi-fi, or wireless broadband connection, is a revolutionary technology that promises to remove the restraints of distance, time and location. It allows one to access the net even in mid-air. Technology and special programs have made broadband Internet access viable for senior citizens or people with special needs (deaf or blind).

Darts Rules

Dart games are usually played between two players or two teams. Each team can consist of two or more people. Although there have are different variations of the game which allow for more than two sides, these have not gained much popularity.

Generally, each player is allowed nine throws as a warmup before the beginning of a game. After the warm up, one person from each team throws a dart. This is to determine which team or person is eligible to take the first turn. The team that got the dart closest to the bull’s eye takes the first turn.

Each player, in his turn, is allowed to throw three darts. Two sets of darts are thrown — one by each team — before the darts are retrieved. If the thrower’s foot crosses over the line or if the person happens to trip over the oche (the throwing line, which a dart player stands behind to throw the darts) while releasing the dart, the throw does not count for any points and there may not be a re-throw.

After a player’s final throw, the dart must stay on the board for a minimum of five seconds for it to be counted. Also, a throw scores no points if the dart sticks into another dart or falls off the board.

In the basic method for play and scoring, the throws that are successful score in the following manner: (1) in the wedge — the amount posted on the outer ring; (2) the double ring (the outer, narrow ring) — twice the number hit; (3) the triple ring (the inner, narrow ring) — three times the number hit; (4) bull’s eye (outer bull) — twenty-five points; and (5) double bull’s eye (inner bull) — fifty points.

Of the games played by dart players around the world, the two most popular ones are “301” and “Cricket.” Of these, 301 is the easier, as, in this, each side begins the game with 301 points and throws in an effort to make their score zero. Cricket, a more complex game that requires more throwing skill and strategy, is played using mainly the numbers 15 through 20 and the bull’s eyes.

Effects Of Cigarette Smoking

Medical institutions around the world have concluded that cigarette smoking is related to many health problems. A recent study showed that smokers have a very high risk of acquiring lung cancer than non smokers. Major problems related to cigarette smoking include cancer of the throat, lung cancer, oral cancer, various lung problems like emphysema, chronic smoker’s cough, general oxygen depletion, prematurely wrinkled skin, bloodshot eyes, lack of endurance and stamina, loss of libido and loss of appetite.

Nicotine is the most predominant stimulant and active ingredient in cigarettes. Nicotine is highly addictive, and children and pets may even die by eating cigarette butts and cigarettes. The tobacco smoke contains toxic and carcinogenic compounds like radon and radium-226, which are known to be related to lung cancer.

Another serious health disorder related to cigarette smoking is emphysema. It is characterized by loss of lung tissue, destruction of the structures supporting the alveoli, and the destruction of capillaries feeding the alveoli. As a result, the airways collapse during expiration and cause the air to be trapped in the lungs, an obstructive form of lung disease.

Smoking is more dangerous to women, with smoking causing prematurely wrinkled skin. It is much more dangerous for pregnant women. Extreme cases of smoking may cause miscarriages. If a woman continues smoking during pregnancy, there are chances that the child may be exposed to passive smoking. One symptom of women smoking during pregnancy is underweight children.

Passive smoking is another increasing problem of interest among the common public. It occurs when the exhaled smoke from a smoker’s cigarette is inhaled by other people around the smoker. Cigarette smoke contains tar, which is known to be more dangerous than the nicotine in the cigarettes.

Handyman Hardware

Handyman can be described as a person who undertakes different types of jobs such as small construction works, electrical works, plumbing, painting, and garden maintenance. All these activities are completed with the help of tools and equipment, which are normally referred to as handyman hardware. Handyman hardware does not consist of specially designed tools and equipment; it is just a collection of tools and equipment used by electricians, plumbers, and construction workers.

Many handyman tools are coated with insulation material that provides insulation against electric shocks. Insulation material is made from specially formulated materials and is scientifically tested before being used to coat handyman tools. Insulated handyman tools are rated according to the level of voltage they can withstand which is usually in the range of 1000 volts to 1500 volts.

A number of manufacturers produce handyman hardware tools based on current national standards defined by American society for testing and materials (ASTM). Handyman hardware tools may include pliers, screwdrivers, knives, scissors, bolt cutters, cable cutters, and hammers. Bags that carry these accessories are made from a combination of cotton cloth, leather, and other strong material to make it long lasting. Household users should make sure that the handyman hardware tools they are buying are manufactured according to standard quality specifications.

Handyman hardware tools need to be replaced after one or two years as they are subjected to heavy wear and tear while rendering handyman services. The cost of replacing or maintaining such type of hardware can be unaffordable for many handymen. The best option for them is to work for an organization that provides all the necessary hardware needed for performing their services.

It is necessary to use handyman hardware tools in a technically correct way, as improper handling can damage the equipment being handled as well as the tool. People can take help from handyman guidebooks or magazines for learning the correct use of handyman hardware tools.

World Globes

Globes are a wonderful representation of the planet earth. They are a perfect depiction of what the earth looks like from the space. Globes make very good tools for studying geography in an interesting way, or they may be just a decorative indulgence in an office, home, museum, garden, or just about anywhere.

There are many different kinds of globes, depending on their size (small, medium, large, and extra large), features (novelty globes, table globes, antique globes, digital globes, interactive globes, talking globes, old-world globes, globe sculptures, garden globes, display globes, day-night globes, illuminated globes, spinning globes, rotating globes, floating globes, raised-relief globes) and use (kids’ globes, pocket globes, floor globes, bookcase globes, classroom globes).

World globes depict many things about the earth. The main aspects in a globe are the equator, the prime meridian, the latitudes, and the longitudes. These lines and the angles between them can determine the exact location of a place on the earth. The exact time at a particular place can also be calculated by counting the number of meridians. Most world globes have all the countries listed on them, along with their capital cities and other major cities. Oceans, mountain ranges, deserts and forests can seem so real when seen on a globe.

These days, there is no limit to globe designing. Most globes are being incorporated with latest design techniques to make them more attractive. These include globes that are made of precious metals like gold and silver and encrusted with gemstones. World globes are also fitted with clocks or compasses within them to depict various time zones and directions. Some are designed in a beige color to have an antique look similar to an old parchment. However, colored globes and raised relief globes are the most popular since they look attractive and are also easy to read. Manufacturers are offering custom-designed globes that would serve as ideal corporate or promotional hand-outs.

Gas Masks: An Overview

The gas mask, a device to aid and protect the user from inhaling gas, smoke or other poisonous fumes, have been used for years by different people and for different reasons. The first use of poison gas in warfare began in Ypres, France on April 22, 1915 when the German army used chlorine gas to attack French forces, but gas masks were in existence long before that fateful date.

Miners, firemen and underwater divers all had a need for helmets to protect the face from harmful elements, provided breathable air and filtered out potentially lethal substances such as smoke and debris. It took a series of inventors creating useful products to address that need that resulted in the creation of the gas mask which went into full scale production immediately following the heinous attack by the Germans against the French.

Prior to 1915, gas masks were manufactured in limited numbers for firefighters, miners and to a lesser degree, deep sea divers. Obviously, the helmet created for deep sea divers had the additional task of keeping water from seeping into the mask, but essentially it performed the same function as the other devices.

Some of the masks created for miners had a similar hose attached to an air device so miners could breathe at depths where the coal dust was so thick that without the use of the mask, they would pass out in minutes.

The masks created for firefighters were the best of the early prototypes for the modern gas mask as they provided no clean air supply but rather ran the existing air supply through a series of filters designed to remove particles from the air and render it safe for human inhalation. This invention was the most produced version and then was mass produced for the army beginning in 1915 with only minor modifications to the filtration system to account for the removal from the air of chlorine gas and later mustard gas.

Cheap Yoga Mats

Yoga is an ancient Indian exercise form that involves the use of certain body postures and breathing exercises for body, mind and spiritual health. Yoga is done by sitting, standing or lying down on a mat. Yoga mats should be very comfortable, as the postures should be done in a very relaxed manner. Good yoga mats even enhance the postures.

The main features of a good yoga mat are: durability, strength, softness, and ability to stay firm without crumpling. It should also grip the floor effectively and not allow the user to slide across the floor on the mat. Yoga mats are very easy to maintain. They just need once-in-a-while washing with a mild detergent, either in a machine or by hand.

A yoga mat is the only investment required for yoga. A good-quality mat can range from $20 to $45 or $50. However, there are cheaper mats available for as low as $10. These are made of regular cotton, without too many frills.

Cheap yoga mats are available in various styles, patterns and colors. Traditional mats were made of cotton or jute, but these days, many other materials are being used for yoga mats. Yoga mats are generally 4-5mm thick, since these mats can be stiff enough not to crease on the floor while being flexible enough to be rolled up, carried and washed. Cheap yoga mats should also handle repeated washing. Some yoga mats these days are also non-toxic and eco-friendly. Other different kinds of cheap yoga mats are: sticky mats, travel mats, foldable mats, lightweight mats and others. These mats are available in plain colors as well as interesting colors and patterns.

Cheap yoga mats can be found at exclusive yoga stores. The best source for finding a good, cheap yoga mat is the internet. There are websites that host the best deals on Yoga Mats, which can be compared as well as ordered online. Some suppliers also give discounts on yoga mats, like 50% off or 30% off. Such deals can be seen on the internet.

Best Low Carb Diets

There are certain specific foods which are never allowed when you are on a low-carbohydrate diet. There are those food items which contain white flour and/or sugar (including honey). Grains and breads are restricted, though people who are on a weight-maintenance diet, non-obese diabetics, or those who can tolerate a few additional carbohydrates and still lose weight may eat a limited amount of grain products.

Starch or sugar is highest in carbohydrates. Other food items include anything made with flour, grains, foods with added sugar, and starchy vegetables such as potatoes and corn. Most processed foods are also high in carbohydrates. A low-carb diet allows you to eat your favorite meat, fish, poultry, cheese, cream, butter and eggs, with some instructions as given by your dietician. You can eat green leafy vegetables which are low in starch, like spinach, mustard greens, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, green beans, broccoli, lettuce, and so on. You can also take a limited quantity of soy products.

Similarly, most fruits are restricted, but some fruits (other than watermelons and bananas) are allowed as long as they do not produce weight gain. Some preferred fruits include avocado, strawberries and grapefruit. It is advisable to cut out some foods, such as sugar and cereals, but include small amounts in your menus and take a controlled diet.

Fibers are an important part of our diet, and supplements of dietary fiber in the form of psyllium husks are advisable. When you are on a low-carb diet it is important to have a high-fat diet. Saturated fats and fats like olive oil, coconut oil, butter, lard, fish oil, tallow, palm kernel oil, peanut oil, and flaxseed oil are advisable.

There are varieties of diet foods available which you can select depending upon the kind of weight loss you want. These diet foods help you maintain a strict diet without banning food of your choice, but provide options to you to eat want you want in a healthier way.

Depression and Anxiety

The relationship between anxiety and depression isn’t always clear-cut. If you’ve been diagnosed with depression, you might have anxiety as a secondary condition. Conversely, people diagnosed with anxiety often suffer from depression. While both conditions have many symptoms in common, there are important differences.

Both anxiety and depression can manifest themselves in a variety of physical symptoms such as fatigue, difficulty sleeping, headaches, muscle pain, weight loss or weight gain, loss of appetite and loss of libido. Mental or psychological symptoms include difficulty concentrating, loss of interest or pleasure in normal, everyday activities, feelings of excessive guilt, loss of self-esteem, loss of self-confidence, feelings of unworthiness, and self-blame and self-deprecation.

While there are significant “crossover” or common symptoms, it’s more important to recognize the important differences. While anxiety manifests itself primarily in feelings of fear, apprehension and impeding doom, depression involves mostly feelings of emptiness, sadness, or loss of hope. On the physical side, the anxious person might feel agitated or keyed up, while someone who’s depressed exhibits a loss of energy and lack of physical movement. Anxious people often feel tense and rigid, while those who suffer from depression tend to slump and feel flaccid. Anxiety sufferers may fear death or feel death is imminent, but do not have thoughts of suicide like deeply depressed people do.

While depression is sometimes thought of as a more “serious” condition than anxiety, people who suffer from anxiety often report that they are depressed as well. Such depression is the result of the person’s excessive worry and fear. This can make the treatment of anxiety tricky, since treatment methods and medications for anxiety differ from those for depression. It takes a skillful health-care professional to sort out the differences and similarities, and design a meaningful treatment regimen for the person suffering from anxiety and/or depression.
